5 Days Rwanda Gorilla and akagera safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park.
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, meet and greet with the company driver who gives you a hint about the whole safari. Later head out for a 2 to 3 hours’ drive through the beautiful hilly landscape of the country side to Akagera national park. Check in at your booked lodge, refresh, relax, have dinner .and then an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise in Akagera National Park.
Delight in a morning breakfast then embark on the 4 to 6 hours game drive in the magnificent national park which is blessed with lots of natural wonders such as the wildlife and the bird species. You can view wildlife species like the elephants, leopards, buffaloes, topis and many others plus the bird species like the butterflies, insects, rare shoebill stork, and many more bird’s endemics to the Albertine. After return back to the lodge for lunch and a have nap, in the afternoon head out for a boat cruise on lake lhema which has lots of bird species including the water birds like the rare shoebill stork and other bird’s endemic to the Albertine rift. You can get a chance to view some wildlife gathered along the shores o lake lhema refreshing and drinking water. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Enjoy an early breakfast and transfer to volcanoes national park for trekking the endangered mountain gorillas. The journey takes approximately 6 hours to reach the park, head to the park headquarters, get the gorilla permit then continue to the lodge for check in then refresh and have lunch, relax and proceed with the guided nature walk to twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo.return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge.
Nature walk is done in the Bigodi Swamp this is to enable you spot primates like Vervet & L’Hoest monkey and also observe plenty of bird species. You will return to the lodge in the evening for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park.
Delight in a morning breakfast then drive to the park headquarters with packed lunch for briefing and submitting of the gorilla permit after you set off for the wonderful adventure. You can hire a porter to carry your luggage in case you’re not feeling well. Upon finding the gorilla families spend 1 hour with them while learning their behaviors and taking the photos. During the gorilla search you can get chance to view other wildlife species which reside in the forest like the elephants, golden monkeys, elephants among the rest. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking and departure.
Enjoy morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and head to the forest for golden monkey trekking which takes approximately 2 to 5 hours. After have lunch enroute proceed to Kigali city with an enroute visit to Gisozi war memorial site to Kigali international airport to catch the flight back home.
End of the tour.
