12 days gorilla Uganda safari Detailed Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international Airport.

Meet and greet with your safari guide at the airport, then board and transfer to the hotel in Kampala have dinner and relax for the overnight stay while preparing for the following day.

Day 2: Depart for Murchison Falls National Park.

Enjoy the early breakfast and transfer to the wonderful Murchison falls national park with a stopover at the rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking which is a one and a half hours experience. After proceed to Masindi for your lunch then continue to the park, on reaching take a drive to the top of the falls then after the awesome experience return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked hotel and head out

Day 3: Game drive and boat launch on the Nile.

Wake up early for the game drive so that to spot the animals which are resting with less the nyamsika plateau you are able to view the buffaloes, Uganda kob, heartbeats, waterbucks among the rest. After proceed to the lodge for breakfast while preparing for a boat cruise which gives you the opportunity to see the aquatic animals like the hippos, crocodiles which sleep along the Nile banks. You can also sight some birdlife like the kingfisher, rare shoebill stork, pelican Egyptian geese, goliath, bee eater among are the few. Head to the surrounding community to learn how the locals earn a living from the hand made items then back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Nature walk is done in the Bigodi Swamp this is to enable you spot primates like Vervet & L’Hoest monkey and also observe plenty of bird species. You will return to the lodge in the evening for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit to the top of the falls then transfer to Kibale forest.

The safari takes you to explore beautiful falls after your breakfast and observing the Nile water passing through the seven-meter gorge. See the Nile banks which act as a home to the water animals then hike to the top and view the beauty of the top of the falls as it makes an amazing rainbow. Then have a transfer to kibale National Park which takes you almost nine hours to the primate forest, explore the interesting country side along the way and also witness the people surviving on agriculture due to the gardens along the way, have an enroute lunch then proceed to the park. Check in, refresh up, have dinner and then an overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi walk

After morning breakfast proceed to kanyanchu center for briefing about the dos and don’ts when you are in the forest looking for the apes. The forest is gifted with 13 primate species the reason why is called the” Primate Capital of the World’. The trekking can take you up to three hours so that you can see the chimpanzees while moving around the forest. You can see quite a big number of bird species plus the colorful butterflies. Head back to the lodge freshen up, have lunch then back for Bigodi walk where you can view monkeys as they sway around and a variety of birdlife. Drive back to the lodge freshen up, have dinner and then an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to queen Elizabeth national park.

After an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park.it takes three or more hours to reach queen Elizabeth national park. Upon arrival you can start with the boat ride at the kazinga channel which consists of many animals like the big game animals which you can take picture of. After there head to the lodge for check-in and then have lunch. Later head out for a community walk and where you get a chance to meet with the local people interact with them and learn more about their fascinating authentic culture as well as learning about their ways of living.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Wake up an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and head out for a morning game drive through the Ishasha sector where you get an opportunity encounter the famous tree climbing giggling on acacia tree branches, plus other wildlife species which you didn’t see while on boat cruise namely; herds of Uganda kob which are friends to the lions among the rest. Continue with a drive to the south of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with enroute lunch, the journey offer chance to experience the amazing country side wonderful scenic views of the landscape and the bamboo forest. On reaching the park check in at your booked lodge, enjoy dinner and then an overnight stay.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Delight in a morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with all the necessary gadgets needed plus your packed lunch for a collective briefing about the dos and don’ts while carrying out the activity in the park. Later transfer to the starting point and begin the gorilla trek in the forest with a ranger guide to search the habituated gorilla family. Once you locate a gorilla group, you allowed to spend one hour as you learn more about their ways of living and take pictures of them. After the awesome adventure, return the park headquarter for a certificate of appreciation for taking part in the gorilla conservation in Bwindi Forest, later drive to the lodge, dinner and a night rest at your reserved lodge.

Day 9: Canoe ride on lake bunyonyi

Enjoy an early breakfast and head out for canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi to experience the 29 islands dotted on the lake, cruise gives you an opportunity to interact with the local people, groove many colorful bird species. Later return to the lodge, for lunch and relaxation as you catch glimpse of the serene environment at Lake bunyonyi. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay

Day 10: Transfer to lake Mburo national park.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and transfer to lake Mburo National Park with a stopover at Igongo Cultural Center, grab an opportunity to learn about the Ankole culture which is exhibited through the traditional dance and song performances, have lunch and proceed to the park. On reaching, check-in at your booked lodge and go out for horseback riding experience which gives you the opportunity to get close to unique stunning wildlife species like Rothchild giraffes, Burchell’s zebras, Elands, Impala antelopes among others. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Game drive and a Boat cruise.

Enjoy an early breakfast and then go for game exploration in Lake Mburo National Park with your driver guide. Groove on the beautiful vegetation types, thrilling wildlife species namely; warthogs, zebra, elands, Impala antelopes, Rothchild giraffes and many others then back to the lodge for lunch and relax. Later head out for an afternoon boat cruise which takes two hours as you explore the park and view aquatic wildlife ones like the crocodiles, water birds, hippos and among others. Later driver back to lodge for dinner and overnight stay at the booked lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to Kampala.

Delight in a leisure breakfast while preparing to get back to Kampala in a 6 to 7 hours’ drive. enjoy an optional stopover at the Equator getting chance to stand between the two hemispheres at the same time taking pictures for life time memory and then have lunch during this stopover. Upon arriving in Kampala proceed to the airport to catch up your booked flight back home or next safari destination.
