Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Musanze

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, your driver/guide will welcome you and take you to Musanze. In the afternoon, explore Musanze town and visit the Musanze Caves. In the evening, participate in a briefing regarding gorilla trekking followed by dinner.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Start your day with breakfast and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park. After the gorilla trekking briefing and orientation, set out on a trek lasting 2-5 hours to observe the magnificent mountain gorillas. Return to your hotel for lunch and some relaxation. You may also engage in optional activities such as bird watching or a nature walk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Dian Fossey’s Grave

Enjoy breakfast before transferring for Golden Monkey trekking (about 2-3 hours). Visit the grave of Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Center. Return to your hotel for lunch and some downtime, followed by optional cultural tours or visits to local communities. Enjoy dinner and, optionally, a cultural performance and overnight

Day 4: Wildlife Viewing in Akagera National Park

Travel to Akagera National Park (approximately 4 hours) for a game drive and wildlife observation, where you can see elephants, lions, and giraffes. Have lunch at the lodge within the park. An optional boat cruise on Lake Ihema is also available.

Day 5: Return to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, you can participate in an optional game drive and wildlife viewing. Head back to Kigali where you can enjoy lunch and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Depart from Kigali International Airport.
