1-day shoebill tour

This 1-day shoebill tour takes you to Mabamba Wetland, Mabamba wetland is one of the
delightful places for bird sightings and is most famous for the rare shoebill stork, a haven for
various bird species. Mabamba sits on the shores of Lake Victoria making it a favorable place for
water birds.

Day 1: Mabamba wetland

After breakfast, proceed to Mabamba Wetland via Masaka Road and branch off to Buyenge a 50
km drive from Kampala. While at Mabamba you will be able to spot white-shouldered tit, red
cap, western banded snake eagle, a variety of egrets, sitatunga Antelope, purple heron, white-
winged warbler, ruffaus bellied heron, jacanas, weyns weaver, papyrus gonolek, white spotted
fulftail, purple gallinule among others which are adapted to swampy habitats. Have lunch at
Mabamba Lodge and sunset drive back to Kampala.
