3-day Jinja birding safari

This 3-day Jinja birding safari takes you to the adventure capital of Uganda, home to the source
of the river Nile and a birdwatching paradise. From the majestic Lillian's Lovebird to the elusive
Shoebill Stork, Jinja's birding hotspots promise thrilling encounters with over 200 species of
birds.

Day 1: Birding in Mabira forest and Sezibwa falls

Pickup from your hotel and transfer to Sezibwa Falls in search of the great blue turaco, dark-
capped, eyed dove, tambourine dove, lesser stripped, grey-headed sparrow, crowned hornbill,
eastern plantain eaters, woodland kingfisher, African harrier hawk, African pied wagtail,
sunbirds among others.
Proceed to Mabira forest after lunch, and zip line while birding the different forest bird species
in Mabira forest, these include palm nut ventures, great blue turaco, African fish eagle, the
roaring griffin falls, yellow and grey long bills, purple throated cuckoo shrikes, Jameson’s wattle
eyes, tit hylia, nahons francolin. Have dinner and retire for a night.

Day 2: Birding in Jinja

Have breakfast and proceed to the source of the Nile for a boat cruise. During the cruise, expect
to see birds like the great blue turaco, white spotted fluff tail, white crested turaco, Bruce’s
green pigeon, western banded snake eagle, African grey parrot, green-backed heron, giant
kingfisher, open billed stork, African crake, African rail, African pigeon, African black coucal,
blue headed coucal, marabou stork, pied crow, red bishop among others. Back to your
accommodation have dinner and retire for a night.

Day 3: Departure

After breakfast, have a morning boat cruise birding the likely missed bird species for about 2
hours, engage in activities like water rafting, quad biking, and kayaking with extra payments if
