Getting to Queen Elizabeth national park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is situated in the western part of Uganda, in the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, Ibanda and Rukungiri. It lies on the floor of the Albertine rift valley on an area that is dotted with numerous craters. Queen Elizabeth National Park is also crossed by the equator, one of the reasons why temperatures are high in the park. Kasese is indicated as the geographical location of Queen Elizabeth national park because it is where the main gate to the park is found. It also shares the biggest portion of the park and has the park’s major tourist sites including Mweya, Kasenyi and Katunguru where the parks headquarters used to be before they were relocated to Rubirizi district.
