6 Days Rwanda–Uganda Primate Safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and briefed about your 6-day primate adventure. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a short Kigali city tour, visiting highlights such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kimironko Market, and local art galleries.
After lunch, embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in Rwanda’s northern province. The drive offers picturesque views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and vibrant rural life. As you track them, you’ll also spot other forest dwellers such as black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, and an impressive variety of birds.
Once you find the chimpanzees, spend an hour observing their lively interactions — from grooming and feeding to playful chases. Return to your lodge for lunch and later transfer to Kasese Airstrip for your flight to Entebbe.
