Mabamba Wetland
Mabamba Bay Wetland is the premier birding location and a Ramsar site in Uganda, situated on
the edge of Lake Victoria in the Wakiso and Mpigi districts to the south of central Uganda. You
can access it by road via Masaka Road, taking a turn onto Buyenge Road, covering a total
distance of about 50 kilometers, or you may opt to reach it by boat on Lake Victoria. Mabamba
swamp is a haven for 300 bird species including threatened and migratory bird species.

Botanical gardens
Botanical gardens are a perfect place to visit in Entebbe for birding enthusiasts and activities
offered include plant identification and bird watching.

Uganda Wildlife Education Center
Uganda Wildlife Education Center in Entebbe is a tourist destination for local and international tourists.
The zoo has almost all wildlife mammals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, rhinos, and
many more. The most interesting is that it offers behind-the-scenes services whereby you can feed and
touch various wildlife.

Beaches
Entebbe being a peninsular, is home to various beaches which you can visit for relaxation and
swimming. Different beaches include white sand beach, Aero Beach, Lido Beach, and Imperial Resort
Beach. All these beaches have restaurants and offer water activities like boat rides.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is a unique and fascinating destination on Lake Victoria,
about 23 kilometers southwest of Entebbe. The sanctuary is home to over 50 rescued

African Fish Eagle, Ross's Turaco, the vibrant Red-billed Firefinch, the Orange Weaver, and the
European Bee-eater. The gardens' diverse habitats support many birds, from waterbirds like the
Yellow-billed Stork and African Jacana to raptors like the African Pygmy Falcon and Gabar
Goshawk. Birding in Entebbe is carried out at Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Uganda Wildlife
Education Centre, and Mabamba Swamp.
